Making a story credible and appealing to human emotion is important, but making sure
your message is also intriguing will give it that extra edge. Spice up your message with a
funny anecdote, joke, or unbelievable fact that will make it stick.
‘This isn’t my opinion, what I think or feel – this is what the experts are saying, this is what the data is showing’. In other words, make sure that what you say comes across as trustworthy, reliable and credible.
Sure, you can make your point with a 20-slide presentation of statistics and graphs, but
appealing directly to people’s human emotions can sometimes be even more effective.
